Making A Mark

One of my earliest memories in life is walking down the street with my parents pitching them invention ideas. They were usually pretty blunt. Either my invention ideas were not very good, or someone already had created the idea. At a young age, I became obsessed with inventing something totally novel during my time on earth.

So I kept on working at it. In middle school, I’d spend nights on Google Patent. I realized my ideas were getting nearer to the patent file date. While I was still far away, I was getting closer to the cutting edge and that progress kept me inspired.

In high school, I launched my first startup, a website that helped students define multiple words simultaneously for vocabulary list homework assignments. It was no money maker, but it helped people save thousands of hours. To me, that felt awesome. So I’ve dedicated my life to using entrepreneurship as a vehicle to challenge myself and create value for others ever since. To me, it is the greatest game in the world.

You can’t lose what you don’t put in the middle. But you can’t win much either.
